Summer has arrived!

6 weeks of summer has finally arrived, and we know everyone is excited! Hopefully the weather will be kind to us all.

We know that this can be a long time for children and young people to not have structure or routine, especially for those who are neurodivergent. That’s why we have collated some information that may be useful for parents and young people over the summer break.

Create a boredom jar

Boredom may creep in after a few days or weeks so why not create a boredom jar together at the start of the holidays. Fill a jar with notes that have ideas of things to do, include things like having a water fight in the garden, household chores, crafts, colouring in, baking, home cinema events – anything is possible!

West Lothian’s Get Into Summer
