Gate is our skills development and training service based in our Linlithgow campus for neurodivergent people aged 16+. It maintains and enhances the skills of its Trainees, as well as improving their wellbeing.
By building confidence and resilience, Gate helps Trainees to achieve agreed goals and ambitions through a person-centred approach.
Gate has been co-designed with neurodivergent people and offers a friendly and warm environment where individuals can relax and be themselves.
Gate opens up opportunities to enhance lives in order that ambitions are realised.
Trainees at Gate are able to learn valuable skills through a range of activities as well as vocational and accredited courses, delivered by specialist staff.
Activities offered at Gate range from photography, art and animation, to horticulture and cooking, IT, cybersecurity and gaming.
All courses are delivered to Trainees in small groups, allowing our team to focus on the individual and pace each workshop appropriately.
To complement the practical skills, wellbeing is embedded at Gate, underpinned by our person-centred philosophy, which supports all Trainees.
Trainees are helped to develop self-esteem, reduce anxiety and build resilience, allowing them to reach their goals and achieve their dreams.
There are opportunities for Trainees to develop skills in mindfulness, yoga and stress reduction techniques.
Placements within Gate are funded by Self-directed Support. For more information on obtaining Self-directed support click here
Trainees can attend Gate throughout the 48 week programme, for anywhere between half a day and 5 days a week, depending on their availability and their areas of interest.
